A receptionist saw me as so much of a threat upon asking for scrap thermoformed domes at Replex Plastics Manufacturing, she does not attempt to approach me on her own to ask why I am sitting in my car in the parking lot following my inquiry, but picks up the phone, dials 9-1-1 and calls the police - on a young Black woman. Not once does she think, this woman means no harm, she lives a life different than mine, that does not equate to threat, and maybe I can just ask her why she is still here instead of assuming it is to harass the workers (at best). If I were a shade or two darker, would I have survived this ordeal?
